FEB2008
Service issues Programmatic Biological Opinion (BO) for the Santa Rosa (SR) Plain. It is the BO for projects that may effect CTS and the three endangered plants on the SR Plain, based on information from the SR Plain Conservation Strategy (SRPCS). The SRPCS seeks to create a long-term program to mitigate potential adverse effects on listed species due to future development on the Santa Rosa Plain. The program will contribute to the recovery of several listed Sonoma County species and to conservation of their sensitive habitats. The strategy was developed by the SRPCS Team, which is made up of representatives of the government agencies mentioned above and interested parties such as the development community, conservation community, and municipalities. Their goals are to develop a habitat conservation strategy that contributes to the recovery of CTS and listed plant species, identify proposed areas for conservation, develop an implementation framework for the conservation strategy which identifies short- and long-term actions, and establish development process predictability.
